Mary and Bob’s history in the printing industry goes back to their high school days. Not only were they high school sweethearts, they graduated from Burlington High School with two years in vocational printing. Both Mary and Bob worked at local print shops for several years before starting First Step in 1992. Mary’s hobbies include scrapbooking and working in her flower gardens. Bob enjoys fishing, growing garlic and building things out of salvaged barn boards. Their son Matthew, owner of Matt’s Wash & Wax, lives in Jericho with his wife Alicia and two wonderful children. Their daughter Hilary lives in Gardner, MA with her partner, Nicole. Hilary is a paramedic and a dog trainer for Off Leash K9 Training. Over the years they have grown the business around their home and hope to welcome you into their family of customers.

Nicki has been a designer for over 22 years. She has worked in several advertising agencies throughout her career and has held positions ranging from graphic designer to creative director. Working at First Step Print Shop has enabled her to become more knowledgeable of the printing process, production, and bindery from a different standpoint. She received her formal training and degree at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in 1998 and has received continued education at the University of Vermont. Nicki resides in the Underhill area with her husband and son and believes that being able to work locally makes all the difference.
